Music wouldn't be half as enjoyable without its inherent element of humor, which is why I prefer modern music to classical... (Not that there's never any humor in classical music, as PDQ Bach points out -- but it's rare.)

On this page I pay homage to several types of humor -- no offense to the participants, I hope! There are artists who are intentionally comedians. There are artists who simply abandon pretentiousness and don't try to take themselves seriously. And then there are artists who are looked upon, with the passage of time, as "period pieces" that have become embarassing. I'm not afraid to listen to 'dated' music -- again we have the time portal thing -- and often, as artists of bygone eras watch fickle public opinion turn away from them, they bury nuggets of wisdom in their derided work. At least the process is worth a smile.
