Happy Chichester [and Howlin' Maggie]Often it takes somebody else to tell you that you just have to open your eyes to see "Love Is All Around Us" |
Now here's a very personal story. One night when I was living in San Diego, I found myself extremely depressed, for reasons I won't go into. I wasn't exactly contemplating suicide, but I was wondering why I wasn't contemplating suicide. However, I happened to have a ticket to the Belly-Up Tavern where the band Brad was playing (a Pearl Jam spinoff band with Stone Gossard as the guitarist). Opening for Brad was some dude I had never heard of, from Ohio, named Happy Chichester. I walked into the bar, walked towards the stage, and the singer looked right at me and sang the musical question about suicide which you hear in the accompanying audio clip. I honestly don't think I have ever felt that depressed, since that song snapped me out of it. Just goes to show.
...I also recommend the trippy, ethereal lyrics of "If
I Could Murder the Right Man" and "Nobody Calls Her Baby",
all from the album "HYDE".

The accompanying audio clip is for your "review purposes", in other words, I am explicitly hoping that this sample inspires you to go out and buy the song. And thereby avoid having Happy Chichester sue me. |
